How SkeleCore works
Fabric tensioning means applying consistent stretch to the system so your duct maintains its intended form, not just at the ends or in isolated sections.
DuctSox developed SkeleCore to solve the common weaknesses of non-tensioned and partially tensioned fabric HVAC systems.
Traditional fabric duct systems depend on air pressure to stay inflated. SkeleCore systems does it through internal or external tensioning.
In short, fully tensioned systems mean no sag, more consistent airflow and a clean, finished look at all times.
Tensioning system types
Different applications demand different levels of structural support. SkeleCore is a family of fabric duct tensioning systems designed to meet those needs so performance matches your project requirements and budget.
SkeleCore FTS | Fabric Tensioning System
DuctSox’s flagship internal tensioning system maintains a fully round, taut shape with or without airflow, making it ideal for VAV applications, frequent cycling and exposed environments where appearance matters. Available from 8” to 60” diameters.
SkeleCore Pull-Tight System
Pull-Tight is a configuration that uses internal hoops and tensioning baskets for shape retention, startup stability and consistent appearance compared to basic suspension systems. Available in diameters from 8” to 60”.
SkeleCore ETS | External Tensioning System
ETS extends the SkeleCore platform into ultra-large diameter applications where metal ductwork has typically been the default. Designed for approximately 90” to 156” diameters.
SkeleCore Standard Support & Retention Systems
Standard systems provide basic suspension for fabric ductwork in conventional applications. They rely on airflow to maintain shape and are best suited for constant-volume environments where full-time tensioning and enhanced startup stability are not required.
Fabric duct system benefits
Fabric duct systems are lighter in weight, faster and easier to install, and capable of delivering more uniform air distribution than metal ducts. Fabric also reimagines aesthetics in open ceilings while reducing issues related to noise and condensation. In large-scale applications, they significantly ease structural burden compared to metal systems.
Applications
SkeleCore tensioning systems are your solution for a wide range of commercial and industrial environments, including:
- Warehouses, manufacturing and distribution centers
- Stadiums and arenas
- Fieldhouses and indoor athletic complexes
- Retail and commercial buildings
- Gyms and fitness centers
- Education spaces
ETS expands your opportunities further into ultra-large venues where traditional metal ductwork has typically been required, including hangars, transportation hubs, convention centers, high-bay fulfillment centers and other large-format facilities.
Stadiums & Arenas
Maintains consistent airflow and structural form across long spans and high ceilings, even under variable operating conditions.
Fieldhouses & Indoor Athletic Complexes
Delivers clean, stable duct geometry that preserves aesthetics and airflow performance in exposed ceiling designs.
High-Bay Distribution Facilities & Manufacturing
Provides reliable shape retention and uniform air distribution in large, high-volume industrial spaces.
Success Stories
From high-visibility commercial interiors to large-scale performance venues, SkeleCore systems deliver in demanding applications where airflow consistency, appearance and installation efficiency matter.
