Shape

DuctSox fabrics can conform to any space and for added customization are available in multiple shapes. Round configurations include; Round, Half-Round, Quarter-Round, Oval and UnderFloor. Diffuser configurations include the C-Series, D-Series and V-Series.  Selecting the shape of a DuctSox system is based on the airflow and space required for your application.

  • Round: Most common and efficient shape. Ideal for open or finished ceilings where visual balance and high-performance airflow are important.
  • Half-Round and Quarter-Round: Surface-mounted designs for finished ceilings or tight perimeter spaces. A practical solution for low-clearance or wall-mounted layouts.
  • Oval: Perfect for areas with headroom restrictions or obstructions. Blends airflow performance with a streamlined visual profile.
  • Underfloor: Designed for UFAD (Underfloor Air Distribution) systems. Enables displacement ventilation for improved occupant comfort in raised floor environments.
  • Diffusers (C-Series, D-Series, F-Series, V-Series): Specialized fabric diffuser options engineered for targeted airflow in spaces where traditional ducting isn’t feasible. Each series is designed to solve unique air distribution challenges while offering lightweight, low-maintenance performance.

The shape of a fabric duct system plays a critical role in determining how air is distributed and how the system fits within a space. Round and half-round shapes are commonly used for open ceiling designs, offering efficient airflow and visual balance. Quarter-round and oval options provide solutions for tight or low-clearance installations where standard ducts won’t fit. UnderFloor ducts are ideal for displacement ventilation or raised-floor systems. Choosing the right shape ensures the duct integrates seamlessly with the architecture while delivering consistent, efficient air performance.

Layout

Unlike metal systems that rely on rigid duct branches and spaced-out diffusers, the entire DuctSox system functions as a diffuser delivering both air distribution and dispersion through the full run. This eliminates unnecessary components, simplifies layout, and typically reduces installed cost by 20–80%, all while delivering superior comfort and air mixing.

Every project is different and not every layout is a straight line. That’s why DuctSox offers a wide range of standard and custom fittings to work around structural obstacles, elevation changes, or specialized airflow requirements. In addition to fittings and routing flexibility, effective fabric duct layout depends on several key design variables: CFM per linear foot, mounting height, and the required throw distance. Our experienced design team is here to engineer the exact system you need for your space and performance goals. Whether you're working from concept or CAD, we help you make informed layout decisions backed by decades of expertise.

Suspension Systems

Suspension is more than installation, it’s about performance, appearance, and longevity. DuctSox offers a full range of suspension solutions engineered to keep your system looking sharp and operating efficiently in any application, from VAV environments to spaces with architectural or clearance constraints.

Tensioned Suspension

Premium Appearance. Superior Performance. Industry-Exclusive Technology. Tensioned suspension uses internal hoops or our patented SkeleCore® retention systems to hold the duct’s shape at all times, even without airflow. These systems deliver the highest level of stability, aesthetics, and long-term performance available in textile ducting.

Why Choose It:

  • Zero or minimal deflation for a consistently smooth appearance
  • Eliminates sagging, wrinkling, and startup noise
  • Best solution for VAV, architectural spaces, and high-visibility environments
  • SkeleCore frameworks outperform all other suspension options
  • Only from DuctSox

Traditional Suspension

Economical. Flexible. Proven. Traditional suspension uses cable, track, or hanger systems to support the duct and relies on airflow to maintain its inflated shape. This practical, scalable approach is ideal for large open areas and demanding commercial or industrial environments where durability, airflow performance, and installation efficiency are key.

Why Choose It:

  • Cost-effective and straightforward to install
  • Highly adaptable for complex layouts or large-scale spaces
  • Engineered for consistent, efficient performance in high-volume, mission-driven environments

Air Dispersion

Traditional metal duct systems rely on spaced-out side diffusers that blast air into limited zones. The result? Drafts, hot/cold spots, poor mixing, and costly overdesign just to meet comfort targets. DuctSox does it differently.

With fabric, the entire system becomes an air diffuser, delivering even, controlled airflow throughout the space. Air dispersion isn’t one-size-fits-all. DuctSox systems offer multiple venting styles to match your performance goals, from quiet, low-velocity comfort to high-throw, directional airflow.

Choose the Right Air Dispersion

  • Linear Vents: Quiet, low-velocity airflow ideal for high-occupancy spaces like offices, classrooms, and fitness centers.
  • Orifices: High-throw, non-porous solution for warehouses, open areas, or where longer distances need to be reached.
  • Adjustable Nozzles: 360° directional control with multiple angle settings. Great for fine-tuning coverage and avoiding condensation zones.
  • Fixed Nozzles: Delivers jet-like performance for focused airflow, ideal for tall spaces and high ceilings. Explore Air Dispersion Options

Fabric & Customization

Metal ductwork systems will scratch, dent and over time their paint will peel requiring maintenance to repaint. DuctSox fabrics do not scratch or dent. Unlike metal ductwork, DuctSox fabric comes in a variety of standard colors, patterns, and custom colors direct from the factory and can be personalized with company logos, mascots, taglines, and patterns. See more reasons why fabric ductwork is superior on our Fabric vs. Metal page.

Fabric options have two distinct types: air porous and non-porous. Air porous fabric is commonly used as an alternative to exposed double wall ducts while non-porous fabric is used as an alternative to single wall duct/diffusers.

Fabric Type
Use Case / Equivalent
Features
Limitations
Venting Options
Air Porous Fabric
Alternative to exposed double wall duct
• No condensation
• Reduced dust on top
• Minimal heat gain/loss
• Optional reduced air throw
• Long lengths may disperse too much airflow through fabric
• Without venting
• With linear vents
Non-Porous Fabric
Alternative to exposed single wall duct/diffusers
• Ideal for spot cooling, heating, or ventilating
•Suitable for long, precise throws
• Risk of condensation
• Dust may gather on top
• Without venting
• With orifices

Designed for Any Environment

DuctSox systems are engineered to fit your space, not force your space to fit the system. We work with you to select the fabric, shape, and venting layout that provides the right airflow where it’s needed most, whether that’s uniform comfort in a classroom or long-throw coverage in a warehouse.

Whether you're after aesthetics, acoustics, hygiene, or heat control—we're here to help you get it right the first time.
