SPACE CONSIDERATIONS
When selecting model, M, L or X, consider the physical length of the filter inside your section of DuctSox. M, or the medium length filter is 4.5x the diameter in length, the L and X are 6 and 9x respectively. Longer filters offer increased surface area which improves filtration performance and extends the effective life.




FILTRATION EFFICIENCY
Efficiency is a relative measure of the amount of particulant captured by the filter media at a given particle size. This rating can vary based on particle size, face velocity, filter loading (clean versus dirty) and dynamic conditions (movement). Based on the performance characteristics, our filter media is generally considered a Merv 8 (~ 50% efficient) or a Merv 12 (~ 90% efficient) or higher.





PRESSURE LOSS
Another key performance issue is to consider the filter pressure drop. Depending on filter media, length and inlet velocity the pressure resistance ranges from 0.15”-0.59” w.g. (Merv-8) and 0.44”-1.97” w.g. (Merv-12) clean. Performance testing has proven the filter maintains it’s effectiveness at 3.2x the original pressure drop.





DUCTSOX FINAL FILTER MEDIA is a unique filter media engineered specifically for use with DuctSox fabric duct ventilation systems. Based on a multilayer construction, the media is both resilient yet pliable to allow depth loading, which results in an extended service life. This chart shows the performance of each filter media as it compares to particle size and media velocity.
